The Streaming Giant Selects Perfect Star for Bon Clay in One Piece Upcoming Installment
Baroque Works is set to exert significant influence in the forthcoming season on Netflix of One Piece, although the major clash won’t unfold until the next season, and a cherished, fan-favorite member has now been chosen.
Netflix announced recently that the talented performer has joined the One Piece cast for the third season and will play Bon Clay. Bon Clay can use their power to change into an exact copy of any individual they’ve laid a hand on with their dominant hand. The actor, who is gender non-conforming and goes by they/them, will depict a rendition of that character reinterpreted as non-binary identifying, rather than as a drag artist, in the live-action show, unlike the original manga and anime.
Escola joins several other recently announced actors tasked with bringing Baroque Works to the screen, featuring leader Mr. 0, played by the well-known actor, Sophia Anne Caruso as another operative, and a familiar face, who also joins the lineup as the monarch of the fictional land.
Although Bon Clay is a major member of the organization, the character will be introduced in One Piece the upcoming installment. Considering season 2 set to cover the Little Garden arc, this marks a major departure in the placement of the character’s debut, one that could indicate more adjustments to the plot development.
The actor’s combination of precise humor and deep sensitivity makes them a standout choice for the character. Besides their recent voice performance in the animated feature Boys Go to Jupiter, they garnered significant recognition and several accolades for creating and performing in the successful stage production Oh Mary!, showcasing the versatility they’ll bring to one of One Piece’s widely praised figures.
The streaming service’s real-life One Piece show is scheduled to come back for its second season on March 10, 2026.
