Football Expert Sutton Battles Singer Olly Murs in Premier League Forecasts

Arsenal's ten-match winning streak was ended by the Black Cats prior to the international hiatus, but can the Premier League leaders recover against north London rivals Tottenham this Sunday?

"{I believe like Arsenal are light years ahead of Tottenham currently but Spurs manager Thomas Frank will have a plan for this game," stated soccer expert Chris Sutton.

"The Spurs manager will try to neutralize Arsenal, who have not always been at their scintillating finest this season - but Mikel Arteta's side typically still find a way to win."

Sutton is forecasting results for all 380 Premier League fixtures this season, against artificial intelligence, readers and a variety of special visitors.

In week 12, he takes on singer Olly Murs, who is a Manchester United fan.

The singer's new album, the new release, is out on Friday.

Football and Family Experiences

Olly is a talented soccer player as well as a successful singer and has been a featured player of several Soccer Aid matches down the years - but he is not intending a professional return as a footballer.

"{I actually played in a charity game the other night for a friend of mine," he said. "The side was trailing 3-1 when I was substituted in the 60th minute, and they went on to win 4-3, so you can read into that what you want!

"I still love football, but I injured my joint a few years ago and it still hasn't fully recovered. I hope I could play more but the unpredictability of the game means it's too dangerous for me in my career to do it seriously again.

"Plus I am forty-one now, and we are not all Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very happy not playing football and I am gearing up for the moment that my daughter or son chooses to play instead."

Murs and his spouse Amelia Tank have a young family, Madison and Albert, and he is ready to follow in his father's footsteps by becoming their coach.

"I will not force football on our children but I've previously told my wife that if they happen to get the passion for it then I will have to go and get my coaching badges - and I will probably be coaching their Saturday soccer side," he said.

"I watched my relatives play a lot, and I really got into it, and I clearly owned a soccer team for a while too.

"My dad did it with us when I was a kid, which is likely where I inherited it. He coached our team for several seasons and had a wonderful time with it. That might be the future for me as well, and I am looking forward to it!"

Top Division Predictions

Saturday, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

The Blues may have to wait a bit longer for Cole Palmer's comeback from injury but their attack is now stronger with Pedro and Delap both returned to fitness.

I still think this game will be quite tight, however. Burnley are disciplined and their sole at Turf Moor losses so far have been against Liverpool and the Gunners.

This smells of a one-all draw to me, but I am in fact going to choose the London side to edge it for what would be their third Premier League win in a row.

The expert's prediction: 1-2

The singer's prediction: The Blues will be too strong. 1-3

Artificial intelligence's prediction: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Bournemouth have been defeated in their previous couple games - albeit both of them were on the road - but they got absolutely spanked by Villa last time out which shocked me.

On the other hand, the Hammers won back-to-back victories before the international break and, although both of those fixtures were at their stadium, they appear competitive again.

West Ham's sole away victory this campaign came at Nottingham Forest in the summer, when West Ham boss Nuno was still Forest coach.

Therefore, what on earth do I predict here - can the Hammers extending their streak under their manager, or Bournemouth responding?

I will go with the Cherries, because I think what happened against Aston Villa was a blip.

The pundit's prediction: 2-0

The guest's prediction: The home team are performing strongly but the visitors have picked up under Nuno. 2-2

The algorithm's pick: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Bees were seen as one of the favourites for the drop before the campaign started, but they have surprised a several people under Keith Andrews and are in fine fettle with three in their past four games.

A family member advised me to select Bees forward Thiago in my Fantasy Football team a few weeks back and, unfortunately, I didn't listen.

Thiago will probably score again on Saturday but I am still not going to select him or back Brentford at Brighton's ground.

They have not had great fortune on the road this term, and the Seagulls are consistently decent at home. Brentford will attempt to hit them on the break but I think the home manager's team carry much more of a threat.

The analyst's forecast: 2-1

The singer's view: It could be one of those games where you expect there is going to be a many scores but it actually proves to be quite tight. 1-1

AI's outcome: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

It is a massive fixture for the Cottagers, who have lost five of their last six games.

Fulham have got lots of quality in their squad but it nonetheless feels like they could be dragged into a drop zone battle.

Regarding Sunderland, indeed they are the unexpected success of the Premier League season so far.

The away side's performance in the 2-2 tie with the Gunners last time out was superb. We've not seen any other team disrupt the North London side like that this term, and they were fully competitive for them.

The logical choice to do to support the visitors here, because they are clearly capable of roughing Fulham up too and, the last time they were in west London, they beat Chelsea at the end of last month.

But I am not choose that. Instead, I truly need to carry on opposing the away team with my predictions. I am taking a lot of credit for their good outcomes because they clearly love to defy my predictions.

Looking at Fulham's home record, the sole side they have lost to is the league leaders. Marco Silva's side will be extremely desperate for a positive outcome, so I am going to predict they will secure three points.

The expert's prediction: 1-0

The guest's prediction: I'm aware Sunderland are doing well and also that the hosts are on a poor run... but they have still been respectable at Craven Cottage this season. 2-0

AI's prediction: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

It is a tough fixture to call. Liverpool have lost seven of their last ten matches in all competitions, but might they be one of the teams who profit from the {international break|
