Devoted followers of the pop star are calling for that a person who breached a barrier and seized the actress during yesterday's Wicked: For Good launch be taken into custody or removed from Singapore.

A viral clip shows the Australian man shoving aside photographers and lunging at Grande while the performers walked down a event pathway flanked by supporters.

Fellow actress Cynthia Erivo promptly wrested the shocked actress away from Mr Wen, who was spotted being led away of the premiere by event staff.

Mr Wen posted on Instagram late on Thursday that he was "let go after being taken in", though court documents revealed that he was scheduled to be present on Friday morning. It is not clear if he was charged.

Pattern of Disruptions

This is not the first time for Mr Wen, who calls himself a "Notorious Troublemaker", has crashed a performance. His Instagram account contains clips of him interrupting other high-profile occasions, including breaching the performance area at the pop singer's Sydney concert in earlier this year and in a similar way during The Chainsmokers concert in the area last year.

"Steps should be implemented applied against him as this is obviously a legal violation," stated an Instagram user, in a response to a video Mr Wen uploaded of his act.

"Oh wow so you do this a lot... how aren't you in jail?" one Instagram user remarked.

Fans Show Disapproval Over Ariana's Past Trauma

Several followers blamed Mr Wen for "re-traumatising" Grande, who had spoken of suffering from PTSD after a devastating incident at the finale of her May 2017 performance in Manchester, killing 22 people and wounding many.

"Ariana has been through so many scary things... and at her Manchester concert and you thought it would be fun to jump the barricade?" wrote one more message on Instagram.

Some fans also faulted guards at the premiere for not being adequately prepared; while different individuals called for digital services to ban Mr Wen's content.

Aftermath and Event Details

In footage circulating online, Grande seemed startled when she was approached by the man. Her co-stars Michelle Yeoh and Erivo can be observed reassuring her while Mr Wen was escorted away by guards.

Grande has remained silent on the situation, and the rest of the event proceeded as normal.

Fans at Wicked premiere
Numerous of Singapore fans had lined up to greet the cast of Wicked

Hundreds of fans had congregated in a crowd of colorful attire at the Wicked: For Good international debut in a Singapore venue, including a number who had queued for as long as many hours before it commenced.

The movie, to be premiered on November 21, is the second of a dual adaptation of the popular theatrical production Wicked, which focuses on the unexpected relationship between two very different witches.

The musical itself is a adaptation of the 1900 children's novel The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.

Grande, who acts as the benevolent sorceress Glinda, was decked out in a champagne pink sequin dress at the gathering while Erivo, who plays the villainous character, wore a sleek black dress decorated with roses.

They were accompanied by cast member Jeff Goldblum.

The previous installment, Wicked, was the most successful movie of 2024 in the UK, and scored 10 Oscar nominations, winning two for outstanding attire and artistic direction.
