Brian Eno Calls On Public Help to Get Together for Palestine Lullaby to UK Festive Top Spot.

A campaign is aiming to launch a Palestinian lullaby to the top of the UK charts. The project aims to deliver assistance to communities in Gaza while also highlighting Palestinian artistic heritage.

An Opportunity for Support and an "Chart Upset"

Renowned figure Brian Eno, who contributes to the track, stated that the song titled Lullaby represents a moment to stand with Palestinians during the holidays. He noted the potential for an surprise number one.

“It would be incredible if that came to pass, yes,” he commented. “I’m not gonna be completely disappointed if it doesn’t, festive releases are a category of their own.”

Defiant Message of Freedom and Dignity

Palestinian singer Nai Barghouti, who sings on the version of a cultural piece called Yamma Mwel El Hawa, explained the track's resilient spirit.

“It occupies a deeply meaningful spot for a lot of people,” Barghouti shared. “The message is that I would choose to perish with honor than exist without freedom. This is the primary message of the song; we seek to lead a life of dignity that we are entitled to as Palestinians.”

Recording Origins and Contributing Musicians

The song was recorded in the wake of a large-scale benefit event held in late summer. Originally intended to be performed and recorded live, the performance was cut from the show due to time constraints.

The diverse array of performers appearing on Lullaby includes a selection of acclaimed names from the music world. All took part in the September show, which successfully generated a substantial amount for relief efforts.

Production and Release

Lullaby was produced by a trio of talented individuals. The song showcases a combination of the original Arabic with new English lyrics.

The organizers behind the project have emphasized that their objective is to collect the highest amount for a specific fund. These proceeds will be allocated to projects in Palestine through an established charity.

“We haven't set a rigid aim,” a figure explained. “We’ll go for as much as possible. Naturally, the greater the amount, the better. Every penny goes out to those in need in Gaza.”

The situation in the area was characterized as its widespread damage, with a huge proportion of property said to be in ruins or severely impacted.

“Given that reality, a few million doesn’t make a massive dent. But I think what truly matters is first of all spreading knowledge of this plight and proving there’s another side to the story.”

The track is launching at the end of the week. Additionally, a full recording of the charity concert will be made accessible to view on a major video platform from later in the month.
